How safety works on the day
Rex is under active operator control for every minute he is powered, with an immediate stop under the operator's thumb and a defined operating boundary agreed at the site check. He does not roam unattended.
Onboard 4D LiDAR gives 360 by 90 degree awareness with sub decimetre detection, so Rex sees and avoids people independently of the operator. Guests may touch and photograph him. Children interact under direct supervision.
What procurement needs from us
Certificate of insurance naming your venue and company as additional insured, issued within 24 hours of a signed contract. W-9 on file. Net 30 invoicing available. We can be set up as a supplier in your vendor portal before the event.
If the unit becomes inoperable and cannot be restored on site, you are refunded pro rata for the unfulfilled time, and in full if it never runs. That is a clause in the rental agreement, not goodwill.
Coverage, travel and venues
Based in Boston. The first 50 miles are included, covering Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline, Newton, Quincy, the Route 128 belt, Worcester, Lowell, Providence, Nashua and Plymouth. Fifty to 110 miles adds $1.25 a mile. Anywhere else in New England or the New York metro is quoted on request.
The BCEC, Hynes, Encore, Seaport hotels and the major campus venues are routine. Carpet, concrete, tile, hardwood, grass and pavement all work, including stairs to a 16 centimetre rise and slopes to 40 degrees. Highly polished stone and very deep pile carpet change the routine, which is what the site check is for.
Booking, deposits and cancellation
Send the date, venue and goal and you get a same business day reply, a flat quote inside 24 hours, and a free five day hold while you get sign off. A short rental agreement and a 50% deposit confirm the date.
The deposit is refundable up to 14 days before the event. Inside 14 days it is retained but transfers in full to any rescheduled date within six months. Weather cancellations on outdoor events reschedule at no charge. Three to four weeks notice is comfortable; rush bookings inside 72 hours are accepted at a 15% premium when the calendar is open.
Branding, battery and space
A custom wrap on the flank panels is $350 and reusable across every day of a multi-day show. Send vector artwork at least five business days out.
Each battery gives roughly 90 minutes to two hours of real event use. We bring charged spares and swap them in under two minutes, scheduled into natural breaks, so Rex is available for the whole booked block. He needs one standard outlet for charging spares, and at least a 10 by 10 area so a photo line can form without blocking the aisle.
